With Talend, almost all the angles of using Data are covered and we are able to create complex integrations satisfying the needs of our clients. Key factors driving the business decision: -Strong user community -Product roadmap and future vision -Strong services expertise -Product functionality and performance. Talend is a really good middleware that plays a key role in hybrid complex scenarios.
  • Generated optimized code for building data pipelines.
  • Ingested and integrated data from both On-Premises and Cloud environment.
  • Created roles for data cleansing, or need to trace data lineage to ensure compliance and integrity.
  • Hadoop-related and big data components need to be rewritten and improved by Talend.
  • The exception handling is not convenient. You can either let go of the exception or stop the process or use an external controller to resume the applications. But you cannot customize the try-catch block of the exception itself.
  • Sometimes you have to use "Ctrl" sometimes "Cmd" is really badly done. In my experience the speed of learning clashes with the consumption of resources and the slowness of the interfaces. An interface made in pure Java requires more time to implement but is definitely more performing.
Truly trusted contact center where the effective solution is always guaranteed. It is not a one-off fix to a specific data integration or management problem. It is a permanent and scalable solution to manage all of your data under a unified environment. Easy to use, great performance, used it for our internal data warehouse. Easy to build and connect to our data sources such as Salesforce, Netsuite, and Marketo.
  • Providing a single environment for accessing and collecting all data, no matter where it’s located and no matter how it’s stored – eliminating data silos.
  • Future-proofing the data management infrastructure as new data sources and endpoints, along with new technologies, can be added to the data fabric without disrupting existing connections or deployments.
  • Data drives competitive advantage for every business.
  • Open source
  • Full of transformations to support different scenarios
  • Integration support with Big Data and MDM.
1) Talend offers more than 200 palettes, but most of them are repeated. For Example in Pentaho, we can use a single component ( Microsoft Excel input ) and we can get the data, sheet name, file name, and all other things like using a wildcard, etc. 2. Talend is an open-source tool that makes it easily accessible.

It is being used specifically in the finance department and is very pleasant to use due to its many time-saving default functions. Also, the integration is fantastic (Salesforce), this is a positive point of Talend Data Quality, users who are developers are also satisfied with Talend Data Quality because they can handle the code. The reports provided by Talend Data Quality are accurate and visually appealing.
  • Visually appealing and accurate reports.
  • Integration with Salesforce.
  • You can handle the code.
  • The learning curve in the beginning may be very steep.
  • Speed is not the best.
Talend Data Quality integrates very well with Salesforce and this is one of the reasons that prompts me to recommend it to all my colleagues, it is true that the speed is not the best and that the learning curve is very steep, but based on my experience directly with Talend Data Quality I can say that these problems are solved and you can really have many positive results with Talend Data Quality.
  • The steep learning curve negatively impacts ROI during the first few months.
  • After solving the difficulties with learning Talend Data Quality, we can achieve an increase in ROI with accurate and visually appealing reports.
  • Integration with Salesforce is another positive breakthrough in ROI.
Talend Data Quality gave us direct help in the learning process and prevented us from taking many more months to adapt and I appreciate this from the heart, I think that thanks to the support we can have very detailed reports that help increase the use of Talend Data Quality in the company.
At this moment the usability of Talend Data Quality is optimal, too bad I cannot say the same in the first three months, it was always a problem due to its steep learning curve, but what matters is being able to use it effectively at this precise moment.

We helped several customers implement Talend for data migration and integration. We have used it mainly to integrate Salesforce with various other systems like Oracle, MySQL, FTP (File-based integration) etc. It does provide a lot of predefined functionality out of the box along with providing the facility to use complex java code for developers.
  • It supports a wide variety of connectors (Systems/endpoints)
  • It provides great flexibility for developers as it not only has a lot of predefined ready to use the function but also provides the ability to use complex java code within the platform. Great tool if you have good developers available.
  • Development is a little complex in comparison to others on the market. A high learning curve is required for developers. developers with java background are perfect for the job.
More suitable for complex integration scenarios as it supports Java code too. Need to have an experienced Mulesoft developer available with some Java background. Cost friendly in comparison to others on the market
  • Overall a good tool when comparing the pricing, features and flexibilities provided together

We have been using Talend products internally and for our client projects for both data quality and integration. Talend DQ is used for data profiling and quality reporting.
  • Diverse data profiling analysis types. Talend DQ has a lot of great analysis report available that can be used in profiling.
  • Reporting is a relatively fast and has detailed information in visual and numeric representation.
  • The drill down capability, when it works, is very useful.
  • The print and export functionality are missing in the Community version which frustrates a lot of our clients as well as internal users.
  • The learning curve is very steep for all Talend products including DQ.
  • Lack of easy to create workflows for jobs that can be repeated.
It is good when using it for a read only analysis, but if one needs to show the results or present it to anyone else, it is quite weak! Ask if your reports needs to be shared or published with non technical users. Ask if business users need to be using this tool for simple data profiling or will this be used for technical staff.
  • None that I can think of.
We have used DQ Analyzer and we like it more than Talend!
Lack of report export and publication! Steep learning curve!
